RV6 Performance High Flow Precats - 2008+ Honda/Acura J Series V6

The factory precats on your J series V6 are killing power before the exhaust even gets to your J pipe. Honda stuffed aggressive factory catalytic converters right after the built-in collectors on the cylinder heads, and those cats are way too restrictive for performance. Traditional headers won't help because the J series head already has a built-in collector, so the only way to free up flow is to replace the precats with high flow units. That's what these RV6 precats do.

300 Cell High Flow Cats

RV6 replaces the restrictive factory precats with 300 cell high flow catalytic converters built from larger diameter 304 stainless tubing. The 300 cell cats flow way better than the factory units and they're rated for higher temperatures, which matters when the cats are sitting right off the cylinder head where it's hottest. You're still emissions legal with catalytic converters in place, but the exhaust isn't getting choked before it even reaches the J pipe.

Cast Stainless Transitions

The precats use cast stainless steel transitions instead of welded tube-to-flange connections. Cast transitions give you smooth flow from the cylinder head collectors into the catalytic converters without sharp bends or turbulence. They're also stronger and less likely to crack under heat cycles and vibration than welded connections.

TIG Welded and Back Purged

RV6's welders hand TIG weld the entire assembly and back purge every weld with argon so the inside looks as clean as the outside. The whole system including tubing, flanges, and cast transitions is 304 stainless steel, so it's not rusting out in a few years.

Note: Check your local emissions laws before installing high flow cats. These precats replace the factory catalytic converters closest to the cylinder heads. You'll still have the downstream cats in the J pipe or exhaust system.
