PTP Turbo Blankets Lava Inlet Pipe Blanket - Honda L15B7 1.5T
Got heat soak issues on your 1.5T Civic? The PTP lava inlet pipe blanket wraps your factory inlet pipe and keeps heat from your turbo and downpipe from cooking your intake air. When your inlet pipe gets heat soaked, your intake temps go up and you lose power. The blanket insulates the pipe so less heat transfers into it, which keeps your intake air cooler before it hits the turbo. PTP builds these blankets by hand in North America with volcanic lava rock fabric on the outside and calcium magnesium silicate wool insulation on the inside.
Why Your Inlet Pipe Needs Insulation
Your inlet pipe sits right above or next to your turbo and downpipe, which are both cooking hot when you're on boost. That radiant heat soaks into the inlet pipe and heats up the air inside it before it even gets to the turbo. Hotter intake air means less dense air, which means less power. Wrapping the inlet pipe with a heat blanket blocks that radiant heat so your intake air stays cooler. Cooler intake air makes more power, especially on back-to-back pulls where heat soak builds up.
Volcanic Lava Rock Outer Layer
The outer layer's made from pulverized volcanic lava rock that's formed into fabric and woven into a tight mesh. It's rated for 1800°F direct heat and 2500°F radiant heat, which is way hotter than your turbo or downpipe gets. The lava rock fabric doesn't melt, catch fire, or degrade from heat like cheap blankets do. If you've seen turbo blankets that fall apart or catch fire, they're not using lava rock fabric.
Calcium Magnesium Silicate Wool Insulation
The inside of the blanket's insulated with calcium magnesium silicate wool, which is rated for 1832°F continuous and 2300°F peak. That's the insulation layer that actually blocks heat from transferring through the blanket. PTP overlays the wool with high-temperature stainless steel mesh for durability, so the blanket doesn't fall apart from vibration or rubbing against other components.
Hand-Crafted in North America
PTP builds these blankets by hand in North America. They're not mass-produced overseas with cheap materials. PTP's been making turbo blankets and heat insulation products for years, and they're known for using actual high-temp materials instead of cheap substitutes that fail or catch fire.
