MLSS-HP aren’t just MLS head gaskets, they’re SpeedFactory’s Multi-Layer Stainless Steel with added high performance silicone beads. 

These head gaskets have been purpose built to provide an excellent seal for all B-series VTEC engines. This can be a simple OE replacement, all the way up to extreme cylinder pressures from high compression / nitrous / forced induction engines. 

A 4-layer design allows the gasket to maintain an effective combustion seal by accommodating slight deformations in the deck service that may arise under high stress. .040” total thickness is ideal for use with O-rings in extremely high output applications. The design incorporates a unique internal silicone bead that provides excellent sealing of fluid passages.  

Head stud holes are enlarged to accommodate both factory-sized or 1/2” head studs (the 2 locating dowel holes remain OEM sized and are the only holes that need to be modified if using 1/2” studs). SpeedFactory has tested this head gasket combined with their Extreme Duty L19 Head Studs on a wet deck Bullet Billet block to 1400+WHP. 

Gaskets are NOT a stopper-ring type design. SpeedFactory has experimented with various B-series head gaskets on the market, using them in combination with and without O-rings. They have found that the embossment of a gas stopper provides marginal sealing benefits for non-O-ringed blocks and can be a hindrance when combined with O-rings.  

Through testing, MLSS-HP Head Gaskets have proved reliable to 1000HP when combined with a 1/2” L19 Head Stud Kit. When power outputs eclipses what a stopper-type gasket is capable of, SpeedFactory recommends using O-ringed sleeves in conjunction with a metal head gasket – this combination has made over 1400WHP.
