Moroso K-Swap Aluminum Oil Pan - K20/K24 Engine Swaps
If you're K-swapping an older Honda or Acura and you actually drive it hard, the oil pan is one of those things you don't want to cheap out on. Here's why. When you're cornering, braking, and launching at the limit, the oil in your pan sloshes away from the pickup, and the second that pickup sucks air your oil pressure drops and your bearings start eating themselves. That's how a built motor dies on track. The Moroso K-Swap oil pan is built to stop that from happening. It's a fully fabricated aluminum pan with a road-race trap door assembly and a removable anti-slosh baffle that keep the oil around the pickup right when the g-forces are trying to throw it everywhere. The 6.5-quart capacity gives you more oil to work with, which means more cooling and more margin before you're ever in trouble. It drops into the popular swap chassis, the 90-01 Integra, 88-00 Civic, and more, so if you're building a K-swap that sees real abuse, this is the pan you want under it.
Here's Why Oil Control Matters On A Hard-Driven K-Swap
Your engine needs constant oil pressure, and that pressure depends on the pickup staying submerged in oil. On the street it's a non-issue. But push the car hard, hard corners, hard braking, launches, and the oil starts sloshing to one side of the pan, away from the pickup. The pickup grabs air instead of oil, pressure drops, and at high RPM under load that's how you spin a bearing and grenade the motor. The Moroso pan fixes it with a trap door assembly that lets oil flow toward the pickup but stops it from sloshing away, plus a removable anti-slosh baffle that keeps everything settled. So even when you're really leaning on the car, your pickup stays fed and your oil pressure holds steady. On a motor you've spent real money building, that protection is cheap insurance.
Built To Last - Fabricated Aluminum With A Billet Rail
This pan is fully fabricated aluminum with a billet rail, so it's strong where it counts and it seals up clean. The billet rail gives you a flat, rigid mounting surface that won't warp and won't leak, which matters on a pan that's getting heat-cycled and beat on. It also comes with provisions for a 1/2" NPT oil drainback and a temperature sender, so if you're running a turbo drainback or you want to monitor oil temp, the bungs are already there. You're not drilling and tapping your brand-new pan to add what you need, Moroso built that flexibility in.
What You'll Need To Run It
A couple things to know before you order so your build comes together right. This pan is designed to work with the RSX Type-S oil pump (Honda part #15000-PRB-A01), so that's the pump you want paired with it. It also requires the windage tray (part #11221-PNC-000), which is NOT included and sold separately, so add that to your list. Get the right pump and windage tray with this pan and your oiling system is set up the way it should be for a K-swap that gets driven hard.
Check Your Chassis Before You Order
This pan fits a wide range of the popular K-swap chassis, the Integra (DA, DC), Civic (EF, EG, EK), Accord (CB, CD), Fit (GD), and Prelude (BB4). That covers most of the classic swap platforms people are building. One important heads up though, it does NOT fit the newer chassis, so it's not for the DC5 RSX/Integra, the CL7/CL9 TSX/Accord, or the EP3 Civic. If you're swapping into one of the older chassis on the list, you're good. If you're on one of those newer ones, this isn't your pan, so double-check your chassis before you buy.
