Hybrid Racing Genuine Goods Kanji T-Shirt: Installation Guide

Estimated install time: 8 seconds. 45 minutes if you're the guy who "doesn't need instructions."

Difficulty: 1 out of 10. Easier than a valve adjustment. Harder than admitting the noise was there before you started.

Tools required: None. Put the impact gun down.

Before You Begin

Inspect the shirt for shipping damage. There won't be any, but you check every box you receive like it owes you money, so we're not going to stop you now.

Verify fitment. This shirt fits the following chassis: yours. It does not fit your buddy who "wears a medium" but hasn't worn a medium since the EP3 was in showrooms. Refer to the size chart, not to his self-image.

Torque spec: hand tight. Do not use anti-seize.

Installation Procedure

Step 1: Remove old shirt. Retain hardware (your other shirts) in case rollback is required.

Step 2: Orient the new unit. The Genuine Goods kanji faces forward. The big HYBRIDRACING! kanji faces the people walking up behind you at the meet to ask what the swap made on the dyno. This orientation is critical. Installing the shirt backwards will not damage the shirt, but it will damage you socially.

Step 3: Insert head through the large opening. Not one of the small ones. We shouldn't have to say this, but Kendall has heard things on the support line.

Step 4: Insert arms through the remaining openings, one per side. (Simultaneous insertion is for advanced users only.)

Step 5: Pull downward until fully seated. You should hear no click. If you hear a click, that was your back, and it's unrelated to this install.

Post-Install Checks

Walk past a mirror. Nod at yourself the way strangers at meets are about to nod at you. Test at operating temperature by standing near someone doing a burnout. The weathered print is pre-broken-in from the factory, so there is no break-in period. Drive it like you stole it immediately.

Maintenance Schedule

Wash cold, inside out, away from high heat. Service interval: whenever it starts smelling like 90 weight gear oil, or when someone in your household files a complaint, whichever comes first. Do not resurface, machine, or shave the print to save weight. It's already lighter than your flywheel.
